Red, White & Blue Berry Trifle Cups
Ingredients:
- 1 store-bought pound cake (or angel food cake)
- 1 pint strawberries, sliced
- 1 pint blueberries
- 1 cup heavy whipping cream
- 2 tablespoons powdered sugar
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
Directions:
- Make the whipped cream: In a chilled bowl, beat the heavy cream, powdered sugar, and vanilla extract until soft peaks form.
- Prep the cake: Cut the pound cake into 1-inch cubes.
- Layer in cups or a trifle dish:
Start with cake cubes,
Add a layer of whipped cream,
Then a layer of strawberries and blueberries.
Repeat as desired, finishing with whipped cream and a few berries on top.
Tips:
- Serve in clear plastic cups for easy grab-and-go portions.
- Add small American flag picks or sparklers (unlit!) for a festive touch.
